What is the key reason behind the superior thermal insulation properties of SunBless, compared to other brands. Does SunBless contain ceramics mixed in it?
Ceramics are not mixed in SunBless at all. With the infrared high-reflection pigment, it reflects the infrared ray of sunlight before it turns into heat. Though the layer of nanofinish gets hot, it does not transmit heat to the building. The heat energy which has turned into direct heat is reduced by the hollow beads resulting in reduction in the thermal energy penetrating the nanofinish film. It is due to these two effects that SunBless is more effective as a heat insulator, than any other brands, of this category.
Some products have high thermal insulation due to its thick application. What is the thickness of SunBless nanofinish film after construction?
A film thickness of 0.2 mm (300 g/m2 application) is more than enough for SunBless to be effective as a great thermal insulator. However, as a general rule the application should be restricted to a max. of 40 m2 of the area, for every can of the nanofinish . This makes SunBless extremely economical proposition. Although doubling the film thickness does not necessarily mean double the performance, the experimental results in fact demonstrate that this doubling of nanofinish thickness to 0.4 mm increases the thermal insulation and heat insulation performance by 1.2 times.
The general view is that painting thermal insulation paint will not reflect the sunlight in winter and it gets cold. SunBless is cooler in the summer, if insisted on insulation performance when it was warm in winter, but since it is not used as interior painting, so just by applying it to an external material such as a roof, the insulation effect will also increase, is that right?
In case of normal paints, the thermal barrier coating reflects weak infrared light in winter, hence it makes the building cold in winters. But SunBless has a thermal insulation effect by painting on the roof and the outer wall. Depending on the latitude, interior decoration in the north (cold district), and exterior in the south may be more effective. In addition, SunBless performs as a paint with thermal insulation properties, and not as an insulation material.
The sunlight reflectance is described as 92.7%, please explain in detail.
Following is the observation and calculation of light wavelengths and its reflectance:
- All wavelength range (300 to 2500 nm): 91.6
- Near ultraviolet and visible light region (300 to 780 nm): 90.7
- Near infrared wavelength region (780 to 2500 nm): 92.7
Apart from thermal insulation, it is claimed that SunBless protects the building infrastructure and the life of the buildings too. How does this work for buildings near the sea coast?
SunBless is able to withstand up to 1,000 hours of salt water spray conforming to the stringent JIS standards of the prestigious Japan Paint Testing Association. Unless it is an application that is in continuous contact with seawater, SunBless nanocoating on the buildings in the coastal area is extremely effective. However, in such cases the nanocoating should be applied only after a rust preventive coating is applied on the ferrous elements of the building infrastructure.
What is the density of the SunBless nanofinish; and what is the standard size of the cans?
The product is available in 18 liter petroleum cans (Trial of inner rust preventive can of can)

Is colourless or transparent coloured nanofinish available?
SunBless comes with a wide range of colourful and aesthetically rich nanofinish. There is no colorless or transparent colour available in SunBless
Please tell us about the performance difference between the main material (reference color and standard color)?
In white and light gray there is a difference of about 20% in infrared reflectance. Light gray will be lower.
In other brands sometimes we have different products for different surfaces such as roofing, wall, ground, etc. Does SunBless cover all these surfaces through a single product? How?
SunBless nanocoating can be used for any and all types of surfaces including roofs, rooftops, outer walls, inner walls, and ceilings. For interior flooring, use SunBless only for the carpet underlay (floor) to reduce the floor chill. SunBless cannot be used for road surfaces such as asphalt.
Can SunBless be used as a rust preventive solution?
There is no rust preventive effect in SunBless. Rust removal or rust preventive coating processing would be necessary before applying SunBless.
What is the viscosity of SunBless?
The viscosity is around 25,000 mPa s.
When basically high-pressure water washing is carried out on the base adjustment, is it possible to apply the SunBless on the existing painting as it is?
Washing with high pressure water, rubbing with the finger’s belly, cleaning to the extent that dirt does not adhere to the finger is necessary. When washing with high-pressure water, there is a part floating in paint, it will scatter confirming that the remaining paint adheres well to the painted surface; and it is no problem to paint the SunBless on the existing surface.
Is it necessary to treat rust preventives, etc. after rust keren treatment? If so, is it oily or water-based at that time?
Rust needs to be completely removed with two kinds of kerens, and it is necessary to apply rust inhibitor (2 liquid permeability) epoxy resin. It is not a problem with usual things such as rust prevent.
It is okay to paint the SunBless from the top completely dried even with a rustproof solvent type. Further, in the case of SunBless (white), rust inhibition is also noticeable after applying the nanocoating.
After treatment of rust with keren or treatment of rust preventives, etc. with regards to the substrate, isn’t it a problem to apply joints such as resin material as it is?
If the joint is silicon, a primer for silicon is required. After applying the primer, you will apply SunBless as it is. Silicon is oil and SunBless is water, so affinity is low and it does not adhere.
About the foundation, in case of urethane waterproofing such as rooftop, PVC waterproof sheet coating base, etc. is it essential to conduct primer treatment?
Yes, It is mandatory, in order to suppress the plasticizer released from the waterproof material.
When applying with an airless gun, what is the recommended caliber?
Please use medium / high viscosity airless paint finisher and around 0.7 mm in diameter.
Can you apply it even on a copper plate?
It is possible; in the case of brand new copper, the oil on the surface is thoroughly applied, and the nanocoat is applied in the state of being dried, washing, etc. This is not necessary in the case of copper which is 4 to 5 years old. But, if there is a patina, it can be applied after cleaning the surface thoroughly.
Does SunBless nanofinish have any smell?
After painting and completely drying, there is almost NO ODOUR. While applying the nanocoat, some people may sense acrylic type odor, because it does not contain toluene, etc. But it does not smell like thinner.
Is it possible to apply SunBless using a vinyl cloth? Do you need a primer? Also, how many times do you apply it?
We need to process the substrate.
- The vinyl cloth is a softened sheet made by adding a plasticizer to vinyl chloride. Plasticizers are gradually released. Due to the effect of this plasticizer, direct application of SunBless makes it sticky forever after applying the primer to stop the plasticizer to the vinyl cloth in the process of finishing. For primer, SL primer W1 can be used.
- Please apply primer coating with the specified method by the manufacturer of the primer. With the help of “Middle Roller Brush for Three times Coat”.
Can you apply SunBless on the floor of the factory, workshop, etc.?
Although it is possible to apply SunBless on the concrete floor, the coating film of the nanocoating is soft. When walking on the floor with high heeled shoes or upon contact with sharp objects, the floor might look dirty due to the dirt or soil entering the scratched surface.
If you walk with ordinary shoes it will not wear out at least for 6 months to one year. However, we do not recommend SunBless for floor application.
Is it waterproof; is it possible to use it at the bottom of the pool?
Waterproof test considering use to the bottom of the pool is not yet implemented. We do not recommend it for this application yet.
